There have been several events already held to raise money for the HistioUK and to raise the profile of the charity and the great work that is does. Many of the previous events can be seen on the 'Thank You' page of the HR Trust webpage. Here are some of the events past, current and future:

Current Events

  • Susan Jackson is running our TerraCycle scheme and is currently collecting biscuit wrappers. Simply save up your chocolate biscuit wrappers (individual wrappers or the outer packaging) and send them to us. The charity will receive 4p per wrapper so it soon adds up! If in doubt save them and we will filter out any unwanted wrappers.

  • Bag packing at Stamford Morrisons by 4th Stamford Guides.

  • Oliver’s Picnic 2012 held by Oliver’s grandparents. Included games, refreshments and a raffle

  • Santa Fun Run 2012. A 3 mile run dressed as Santa around Burghley Park. Ran by Oliver’s friends and family.

  • Collection by Stamford Pantomime Players during the interval breaks at their Puss in Boots Christmas show 2012.

  • Oliver’s Grandad (Robert Scholes) celebrated his 60th Birthday and instead of asking for presents asked for donations to Charity.

  • Rare Disease DayReflect on Thursday 28th February 2013 with Rare Disease Day. HLH = 1 in 50,000 births. XLP = 100 families worldwide. Oliver = 1 in a million.

  • 'Week of Pain' starting 11th March. Peterbourgh College sports students and lecturers will be cycling, running and rowing every day. Thank you to Laura Fisher, staff and students at Peterborough College.

  • Greg Clarke has donated his Comic Annual Collection (all 74 of them!). They are being sold on Ebay with all money going direct to the Charity.

  • 22nd and 29th March ‘Blemain’ will be holding dress down days were staff can pay £1 to wear casual clothes at work. Thanks to Laura Garner for organising this event.

  • 6th April Coffee morning organised by Sally Ann Jackson in Peakirk. 

  • 29th March to 15th April Easter Egg Hunt around Stamford - Organised by Libby and Barnaby Staniland. Winners and shops that participated are listed here.
  • 11th May Oliver’s Daddy will be running around Burghley tackling the ‘Rat Race’ which is the world’s largest obstacle course. Sponsor him by clicking here. The Active Mag will be supporting the HR Trust along with Alex Moore has also joined the challenge. - NEW: Full page added with the full details.
  • 27th May Oliver’s Mummy Andrea and a couple of her friends will by participating in the London Bupa 10k. You can sponsor Andrea by clicking here, Kerry Coupe here, or Karoline Gray-Clark here. Read the full story here.
  • 23rd June Oliver’s Picnic 2013 to be held at Burghley Park.

  • During Oliver's Picnic Jemma Gardner will be cutting off her ponytail, she is raising  money for two charities close to her heart which are Headway and of course HR Trust. You can sponsor her here.

  • Heulwen Summerfield and her army of helpers from CGT organised a cup cake sale at the new office block Fountain Court, Peterborough. Thank you to all the bakers and eaters!

  • Barnaby Staniland and the Skills for Life department at New College Stamford have been making and selling cakes over the summer term which enabled them to make a donation to the charity.

  • Stamford Civic Society made a very generous conrtibution as they wanted to support a local charity.

  • Duncan and Toplis made a donation after our charity and fundraising challenge was suggested by one of their employees.

  • During Poacher 2013 the young staff sub camp were asked for donations to charge their mobile phones. They then chose the HR Trust as their charity to support..

  • Kevin's Open Garden, at 69a Brooke Road, Oakham, LE15 6HG will open on Sunday August 25th from 1-6pm. Admission is £3 and Pimms and other refreshments will be available to buy. Please come along and enjoy the day, Oliver's mummy and daddy are planning to be there so please come and see us.

  • CHARITY BRIC A BRAC STALL - Stamford Market, Broad Street. In aid of the Histiocytosis Research Trust. Paul and Andrea will be selling on the Stamford market just outside Barclays Bank on Friday 20th September, lots of bargains to be had.

  • The Rocking Horse Nursery are having a 'Wear Blue Day' on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in support of the Histiocytosis awareness campaign. Each child will be invited to wear blue and donate £1 to the charity. Oliver loved going the this nursery and we appreciate their support.

  • Fuel the Cure are holding a charity event on Saturday 5th October from 4-8pm at the Phene Club, London. The money raised will be split between St. Damien’s Hospital in Haiti and the Histiocytosis Research Trust.

  • Wayne Morris, Laura Paddock, David Gray-Clark, and Paul Scholes, will be taking on the challenge of the Perkins Great Eastern Half Marathon which is around the roads of Peterborough on Sunday 13th October. Susan Jackson will we running in the 5k run. The charity is listed on the Charity A-Z page under 'The Histiocytosis Research Trust'.

  • Robbie Williams Tribute night organised by Sue Jackson. To be held on Saturday 23rd November at the Stamford Masonic Hall, Scotgate. Further information or donation of raffle prizes please email Robbie@10kForOlly.co.uk. Tickets were sold through Eventbrite.
  • Laura Collins and Neil (Oliver's Uncle) are jumping out of a plane in the name of charity but don't worry they will have a parachute too! They will be doing their skydive on the 30th November at Sibson Airfield.

  • So our fundaraising efforts all started in December 2012 at the Stamford Fun Run. So what better way to round the year off by finishing how we started. There will be Paul, Andrea, Toby, Susan, Edward, Kerry, Karen and Laura running/walking (maybe others that I have missed out!). Thank you to all donaters who have helped us exceed our £10k target and raising an incredible £22,000 in just one year.

  • Amy Waldron has organised a 'Jamie at home' evening on the 10th January. Come along to enjoy a relaxed evening out, browse Jamie Oliver's latest catalogue, see some of the products and take advantage of the new year offers. No pressure to buy but if you do, a percentage will go to the charity. Suggested donation: £2 to cover refreshments. 8pm at Stamford Guide Hall, Conduit Road.

  • Amy  Waldron has taken on the challenge of not eating chocolate for a month (January). This is a great challenge so please help and support her and donate generously.

  • Bubble and Squeak have teamed up with BGS Photography and  Love Stamford to offer a photoshoot of your child for just £5. The winner will win an exclusive photo shoot to model Bubble and Squeaks autumn/winter clothing collection. Competition runs from 24th July to 31st July.   • BGS Photography and Love Stamford have teamed up to offer a photoshoot of grandparents with their grandchild for just £15 (10% going to charity). You can have 1 or 2 grandparents and up to 4 children and you will receive a free 5 x 7 print. The event is on4th October. Full details and to book please email Barney via info@bgsphotography.co.uk

  • 9th May 2015 Oliver’s Daddy will be running around Burghley tackling the ‘Rat Race Dirty Weekend’ which is the world’s largest obstacle course for tghe third consectutive year.   • On the 4th August 2015 Karen Armstrong and Edward Jackson started the infamous coast to coast walk in the UK. This walk takes in the Lake district, Yorkshire dales, North York Moors and everything in between. Internationally recognised as a beautiful but challenging walk they both set off excited but somewhat apprehensive. For their full story visit the Coast to Coast page.
  • Following the massive popularity and success of the ice bucket challenge we have set up a new challenge called the NICE bucket challenge. This is where you simply take a photo or video of you or your child with a nice bucket. Obviously we want you to think outside the box and be as creative and innovative as possible. This could include famous landmarks in the picture or modified buckets. All you need to do is post the picture on Facebook or similar social media sites and nominate 3 other people to do the same in 24 hours, then make a donation by texting 'NICE53 £3' to 70070.   • There is a 'Nearly New Sale' for baby and children's items planned on 27th September 2015 at Essendine village hall, Essendine (near Stamford). Stalls are limited so book early and are one of the lowest around at just £10. Admission is just 50p and all money raised is going to HistioUK charity.       Community Match -Shortlisting

      Nationwide customers have voted to support Histiocytosis Research Trust in their Community Match Scheme. A SHORTLISTING donation from the Nationwide Building Society will be received by the Trust shortly. Customers will be given the opportunity to vote on which local causes they want Nationwide to make a further donation to. From the 10th January our Charity will be displayed in following Nationwide Building Society branches: Peterborough, Whittlesey, March, Wisbech, Spalding, Bourne, Stamford, Holbeach.
